Our Editorial Policy
How we research, write, review, and maintain the content published on CareerAnswered.
Our Commitment to Quality
CareerAnswered publishes career advice that is accurate, practical, and specific. We do not publish content to fill word counts or rank for keywords. Every piece of content we create must answer a real question that real job seekers ask, with advice that reflects how hiring actually works today.
This editorial policy outlines the standards we hold ourselves to and the process we follow for all published content.
Editorial Principles
Accuracy over speed
We verify claims before publishing. If we are not confident in the accuracy of a statement, we do not make it. We prefer to say “this varies by industry” than to present general guidance as universal fact.
Specificity over generality
Vague advice like “tailor your resume” or “network more” is useless without explanation. We explain the how, the why, and the specific context in which advice applies.
Independence from commercial relationships
Our editorial team and affiliate relationships operate independently. No service is recommended because of its commission rate. No service is omitted because it lacks an affiliate programme.
Regular updates
Hiring practices, platform algorithms, and career trends change. We review published content periodically and update articles when the guidance has become outdated.
How We Create Content
Question-driven research
Most content on CareerAnswered begins with a question from the community. We identify questions that are specific, widely relevant, and not already answered comprehensively elsewhere. We then research the answer drawing on industry standards, recruiter perspectives, and established career frameworks.
Expert review
Where possible, we have content reviewed by qualified career professionals including certified resume writers, LinkedIn specialists, and experienced recruiters. Guest content must be submitted by professionals with verifiable credentials in their stated area of expertise.
Practical focus
Every article must answer the question: “What can the reader do differently after reading this?” If an article does not produce a practical takeaway, it is revised or not published.
Corrections Policy
We take factual accuracy seriously. If you identify an error in any published content, please contact us at hello@careeranswered.com with details of the correction. We will review and correct confirmed errors promptly, with a notation where the correction is material.
Affiliate Relationship Transparency
Some content includes links to affiliate partners. These are clearly marked. The presence of an affiliate link does not mean the linked service was recommended because of the commercial relationship. For full details, see our Affiliate Disclosure.
Guest Contributions
CareerAnswered accepts editorial contributions from qualified career professionals. All guest content is reviewed for accuracy, originality, and alignment with our editorial standards before publication. Guest contributors must disclose any conflicts of interest. See our Write for Us page for full submission guidelines.
